“Painted”

One of the most fun parts of taking wildlife photography are the surprises that show up. We went out before sunrise to photograph migratory waterfowl and this Painted Bunting was feeding along the shoreline of a shallow flooded field. They are one of the most spectacular birds in Southwest Florida. Here you can see how they freed on the local plant seeds.
