Mystacidium capense 'Carrie Chu' FCC-CCE/AOS
Slightly sharper focus. Photo by Rosidae. Grown outdoors, by the way. In more shade than for laelias or cymbidiums. Probably close to 80% shade. It grew on 3 successive mounts that I just mounted on the next larger one. No special treatment in terms of water or fertilizer. However, in the last year or two I took to giving it an occasional drenching with RO water and occasional misting in the morning. This past winter, for the first time, I increased the light, which might account for the slight browning on a leaf near the top center. It was named 'Annie Hikes" when put in for judging, but was later switched to 'Carrie Chu', as described in the September ORCHIDS.
