In searing heat, nicely restored steam locomotive No.3 'Cranford' an 0-6-0 saddle tank built by the Avonside Engine Company, Bristol, during 1924 for the Staveley Coal and Iron Company, Derbyshire, and its three ex British Rail brake vans stand in front of the Queen Victoria blast furnace whilst No.75 a Hunslet Bo-Bo shunter prepares to haul another two loaded 'Torpedo' wagons full of molten metal at the Appleby Frodingham works, Lincolnshire.
