Typical Melbourne Terrace Houses

In my travels today I photographed these fairly typical examples of Mebourne, inner suburban, two story, terrace houses. The style is referred to as Victorian here and at a guess, I'd say these would've been built somewhere between 1880 and 1910. The houses often sat on bluestone foundations and are constructed with clay bricks. The ornate verandahs were very common in the era, as were the fences made of cast iron. Other features of these houses included high cielings with ornate plaster roses, ornate mantles and multiple fireplaces. I grew up in a similar style of house not far from the area where these are, only it was single level.
