African Elephant Portrait

Another of the elephants from an evening drive in Amboseli. I think this is my favorite shot of the day and one of my favorites from the trip. The texture of his skin, the setting sun lighting just half of his face and the dry, brown background that shows his natural habitat but doesn't distract from the star of the photo. This was one of the elephants from the same herd seen in some of my other photos (Broken Tusk and Tusker Time).
