Defilade

This is a defilade of Polish People's Army, taken somewhere in between '77 and '82 in Wrocław (or even '81, that is before martial law was imposed in Poland in December 1981).

 

In those days, there was a distinctive communistic tendency to use adjective 'people' in many occasions. Thus there was Polish People's Army (instead of Polish Army) and People's Democracy (as if there were a democracy exluding people). There even was a joke that democracy and people's democracy have so much in common as chair and electric chair...
