The Jumbos

One from the archives of our Big Trip around Australia back in 2004.

Apart from the actual Jumbo jet, this was a very typical scene as we travelled the outback regions of Australia. Our chosen car for the 5 month long big around Australia trip was the little Honda Jazz and here it is lost amid the jumbo sized 4 wheel drives and SUVs. Our little buggy was the only hatchback or car in the whole carpark!

This particular car park is at the QANTAS museum in Longreach, Queensland which features the retired "City of Bunbury" Jumbo jet or 747 as a permanent static display.

The small white fluffy clouds here were very typical of the climate in this part of outback Australia. They would slowly materialise from a clear blue sky at the same time every day - usually around 11 o'clock in the morning.

This was a scan of one side of a stereo pair color slide, originally taken with a German hand built RBT 3D stereo camera using Fuji Sensia 100 film. Original lenses were a pair of Cosina 35-70 zoom lenses. It was scanned with the Canon RP, 24-240 lens and Nisi close up lens.
