Outback wildlife

This local Port Augusta resident and his boy were looking a little surprised to see two AC Cobra roadsters sitting on the old wharf at the top of Spencer Gulf in South Australia. Port Augusta is a major cross-roads point in Australia and I often think of it as the beginning of the 'outback'. North takes you to Alice Springs and Darwin in the Northern Territory - some 2722km away. West will get you to Perth in Western Australia after about 2300km on the highway. South is back to South Australia's capital city, Adelaide - just over 300km down the road, and east will ultimately get you to Sydney in NSW after a distance of 1546km. Usual cars up here are of the SUV or four wheel drive type - not the low slung left hand drive Cobra roadsters.
