In training

I have not yet become a model train collector! This little beauty belongs to a friend of mine who is selling her late husband's model collection, and asked me to photograph them all for her to advertise them.

I could not resist the temptation to go the whole hog and do some focus stacking (20 images) but did not attempt any forced perspective - yet!

The train engine itself is a Graham Farish British steam engine from the "Masterpieces in Miniature" collection. It is N scale and this whole unit measures in at just 5 inches long and one inch in height. It roughly translates to 1:160 scale. I just happen to own a Land Rover in the same scale!

This was just an early test shot to see how well it came out with a focus stack. Taken in outdoor daylight in the shade of my front veranda.
