Feeling blue?
If you're feeling blue, a drive in this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette will soon put a smile on the dial! Even my neighbour driving in his big 4 wheel drive cast an envious eye in the direction of this blue beauty.

A forced perspective shot of another 1/18th scale model parked in my real driveway. This Corvette is from the cheap and cheerful end of the model world, from a company called Maisto. Not the best in some areas (like the odd looking oversized thick radio antenna and cheap, poor fitting chrome trim items), but great in others (the colour - the fully working suspension and steering).
This car's wheels got me to thinking how good it would be if they could bring back these slender white-wall tyres. In the modern era of car styling, there is a real trend toward bigger and bigger wheels with very low profile tyres - with the sad trade off being a much harder or harsher ride quality. These wonderful old white-walls always gave the impression of the wheel looking bigger, but because they were good old fashioned higher profile tyres with big deep sidewalls, they always gave a much smoother and more absorbent ride. The best of both worlds.
