A waiting game 2

Following on from the first shot, here the wait produced some great rides on the northerly swell that led the surfers right into the mouth of the Mersey River.

This is where a lot of ships, including the Spirit of Tasmania passenger ferries make their way down into the heart of Devonport's harbour.

These two shots were almost too much of a challenge for the big 3D World stereo camera. It was designed more for static scenery or landscapes and only had a maximum shutter speed of 1/500th of a second. Combined with being stuck with film that was usually just 100 ISO, it did not like dull cloudy days like this for action photography! Both of the shots were in reality almost unviewable as they were very dark and underexposed, so quite a bit of rescue work was needed in post.

Original colour slide was taken around 2007 with a 3D World medium format stereo film camera using Fuji Provia 100 colour slide film. Scanned with a Canon R10 with RF24-240mm lens and Nisi close up attachment.
