PS Marion
This is the PS Marion, one of the oldest wood fired, steam driven side wheeled paddle steamers still operating in the world today. Here it is tied up at the Mannum wharf on the Murray River in South Australia, and it still operates regular daily and overnight cruises for tourists. It is sitting alongside an early cable operated car ferry and is part of the wonderful little display at the Mannum Dock Museum.
This was a full colour shot, but I did a little sliding to simulate a sepia effect to fit in with the photography from the era of when it was first launched back in the late 1800s.
Happy Slider Sunday!
