Storm watching
From the Big Trip 3D slide archives - 2004.
Two fishing fleets riding out the storms in Albany, Western Australia - one being the actual fishing boats, and the other, this wonderful flock of Australian Pelicans (and silver gulls) sitting out the stormy weather as it passed though. This was taken from Emu Point in one of Albany's many and varied coastal harbours. Shortly after I took this, I returned to the car as it started to pour with rain once again and saw through the windscreen the pelicans all with bills wide open catching the raindrops! It was just too wet to get a shot of it, but fascinating to see.
