Catching some sun?

From the Big Trip 3D slide archives 2004.

I was going to wait for the camel train slowly making its way down Cable Beach in Broome in Western Australia for the ever popular camel train silhouette shot, but decided instead to go for this guy who had appeared from my angle to have hooked the sun on the end of the line. For the time we were in Broome, the sunsets were just wonderful every night.

I encountered the apparent horizon distortion on several sunset shots no matter where the horizon was placed in the frame. I am unsure if it is something to do with the film itself distorting through the camera being aimed at the sun, but it was definitely not the lens. I don't have software for correcting such things, but I still like the result.
