Acceso Oferta Local – Productos de El Salvador (“Acceso”) is the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership’s farmer services and aggregation social business in El Salvador.
Acceso removes the barriers that smallholder Salvadorian farmers typically face and connects them to high-value markets. Acceso provides training, seeds, and fertilizers to smallholder farmers to improve their yield and quality. The business then purchases farmers’ crops at competitive prices, aggregates, performs quality control, and processes the crops at local Acceso collection centers located close to the farmers. Finally, Acceso sells and delivers the crops to large buyers. This also boosts the local economy by providing buyers with the opportunity to source fresh, local produce. The business also expanded to fish and seafood and began working with fishers in 2016.
