Last light: Hooded Merganser (M)
One of the advantages of concealing and waiting on the rocky shoreline is that I was able to plan my shots ahead rather than reacting and shooting quickly.
The sun was fast setting. I was ready with my camera settings when this dapper individual swam by, and I was happy to catch a few shots of him before the clouds covered the setting sun once again.
Taken on: Early Oct. Beaumaris Lake, Edmonton, Alberta
Nikon D500 w/ 500f4G+1.4X; 7.1
DR5 right angle viewfinder.
Lightroom 6.0; Sizing and image resolution: 72dpi
