Gothic Basin

This was a bucket list location I finally had a chance to check out. Being late in the season and having had a very dry summer, I was worried that all those little ponds spread across the region would dry out. Indeed many of them didn't have much water left, but still it was enough for me to see the reflection of the distant mountains. This place is hard to photograph because it doesn't really have any standout composition. It's a place that you have to explore, work the scene and follow your visions. I really like how the rugged terrains hug the little pond in the middle presented in this photo. That tiny reflection just gives this image an extra touch!
