Forbidden City Corner Sunset
The Forbidden City is a palace complex in central Beijing, China. It served as the home of emperors and their households as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government for almost 500 years.
The photo was taken at the north-eastern corner of the Forbidden City. After a snow, the frozen river around the palace complex was covered with patches of fresh snow. This is quite rare because Beijing is a pretty dry city with few snow each year. I like the symmetry that the building in the middle and the wall serve. The sunset color adds some contrast and interest to the image as well.
