Upgrade to Late Model Heater
The under seat heater was gone when I acquired my 1957 Isetta and all that remained was the knob and control lever. Being both difficult to replace as well as barely functional I decided to upgrade the heater to the late model version with the heat exchanger on the exhaust pipe. This upgrade required that a second large hole be added to the firewall where the heater muffler is mounted. The choke and heater control cable holes also had to be repositioned above that. I had some good images of the late style heater installation to work with and I think I got it just right. Because the firewall had already been cut away where the old heater had passed through the upgrade should be hard to detect once the lower firewall is repaired.
