Late 1950s TPA Aloha Airline Douglas C-47 N90627

Circa 1958-1959. TPA (Trans-Pacific Airlines) "The Aloha Airline" Douglas C-47 (DC-3)

N90627 (MSN 4642) delivered to TPA in 1958. The name was officially changed to "Aloha Airlines" in November 1958.

Photographed in Hilo (General Lyman Field), Hawaiʻi Island ("Big Island").

Note: look at that old-school Tetrahedron to the far left in the background! It was a large weathervane used to indicate the direction of the wind (just like a windsock).

Scanned from an original 35mm Kodak Kodachrome slide produced between 1955-1959. Unknown photographer and date.
