Circa 1974 Aloha Airlines Boeing 737-159 N73715 N472GB
Circa 1974 Aloha Airlines, Honolulu.
Boeing 737-159 N73715 (later re-registered N472GB, LN 89, MSN 19679) named "King Lunalilo".
Most people familiar with Aloha Airlines knew that they flew Boeing 737-200's interisland. A lesser-known part of their history was that during the 1970's they leased two smaller -100 series (former Avianca) aircraft. Although this photo isn’t the best in quality, it captures one of the -100 series aircraft in the first Funbird paint scheme with plain-text ALOHA AIRLINES titles. They were both later repainted in the revised Funbird livery before their leases were up.
Scanned from a 35mm slide in my collection (slide is a duplicate). The slide is undated, but estimated to be circa 1974.
