1991 Aloha Island Air DeHavilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter
N705PV - Kalaupapa, Moloka'i
At this time, Kalaupapa Airport did not have much more than a paved runway. Improvements to the airport facilities (lengthened runway, paved taxiway/apron, turn-around points at both ends of the runway) came a year after this photo was taken.
Aloha Island Air began flying as Princeville Airways in 1980. The airline was acquired and rebranded “Aloha Island Air” in 1987 to be operated as a subsidiary of Aloha Airlines. It was rebranded again to "Island Air" in 1995 and finally sold to Gavarnie Holding, LLC in 2003. The airline ended operations on November 10, 2017.
