Hobbiton - "The Shire"

A must place to visit if you come to New Zealand - If you are the fans of the fenomenal trilogy The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbits (which I really love) or if you are not the fans but curious about the Hobbits life and want to experience the real Middle-earth as in the movies, you should come to the Hobbiton Movie Set. It is located only 15 minutes drive from the small township Matamata (45 minutes drive from Hamilton - the fourth largest city in New Zealand). It is home for 39 Hobbit's holes (Hobbit's houses), The Green Dragon, The Mill, The Party Tree and the famous Bag End where Bilbo and Frodo Baggins live. Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellen), Frodo (Elijah Wood), Sam (Sean Astin), Bilbo (Ian Holm and Martin Freeman) once stayed there during the filming of The LOTR and Hobbit movies (credit to Hobbiton Tours).
