Arrowtown
The historic town of "gold" in 1862 with the famous Arrow River - one of the world's richest sources of alluvial gold which brought thousands of miners. One of the few boom towns not to have either become a ghost town or been overrun by modern development. The legacy of Chinese miners around 1865 has been preserved in Arrowtown's Chinese Village (credit to PostArt Ltd. and DK Eyewitness Travel New Zealand). The small town is also famous for autumn trees so it is best to be visited during autumn season. Unfortunately, I still don't have chance to visit this beautiful town in autumn, I visited Arrowtown once during my spring holiday (I hope I can come again in autumn).
