A pair on male Acorn Woodpeckers appear to be judging the other's landing. The one in the middle could likely be studying his techniques as he is only about a week out of the nest. The best way (other than awkwardness) to distinguish an immature one is the blue eyes. Only when they reach maturity do they develop their iconic bright yellow eyes.
