Spearing technique
I was going to delete this shot, but when I zoomed in I noticed something I’ve never observed before. This young Doe appears to be using her hooves as spears to plant in the steep and soft soil. The left front and right rear are clearly planted straight down (a bit like a human walking on tippy toes). The right front appears to be about to spear as well. They are one of the most sure footed animals it’s been my pleasure to watch, so I should not be surprised by the technique.
