Venetian face mask practicing.
Practising on Venetian mask!
I've got a friend coming over tomorrow to do a photoshoot, so I've been practising some lighting techniques and shadow and light on a mask I bought in Venice a few years ago. Not only is it helpful in setting up and being prepared for the next day, it also enables me to type in the right camera settings and angles. It also speeds my work flow so when they come I can eliminate things like multiple test shots and just jump straight in. It also eliminates post editing as everything is already done in camera and speeds up the final delivery to the client. I also was using a ring light and a Tiffen Polariser stacked with a Hoya Skylight 1B filter.
I have another 2 masks I practice on the other being a Jester one for when I want extra clarity and moving focus points, and a Joker 2019 mask for white balance and colour science. Every little helps. I'll post results tomorrow.
