Les lavoirs installés le long du canal (rue du Moulin, rue Beaulong) ont servis aux mégissiers, pelletiers et autres tanneurs au XVIII et XIXème siècle. Autrefois, les lavoirs étaient utilisés pour le travail des peaux (agneau, mouton, patou).
Il a été construit un lavoir couvert en 1892 pour que ces lavandières soient à l'abri des intempéries et puissent laver leurs linges.
The wash houses installed along the canal (rue du Moulin, rue Beaulong) were used by tanners, furriers and other tanners in the 18th and 19th centuries. In the past, the wash houses were used for working skins (lamb, sheep, patou). A covered wash house was built in 1892 so that these washerwomen would be protected from the elements and could wash their clothes.
