Hemorrhoids or piles does not cause pelvic pain per se but there is an indirect association between pelvic pain and hemorrhoids. It is important to know that not all pelvic pain is related to hemorrhoids but some people having pelvic pain can have hemorrhoids.

We all know that chronic constipation is one of the common causes of hemorrhoids. Chronic constipation is regarded when a patient is having less than 3 bowel movements in a week. Most people having chronic constipation usually have pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. These pelvic floor muscles help co-ordinate and allow the stool to be evacuated freely. Having dysfunctional pelvic floor muscles invariably lead to chronic constipation which thereby can manifest in hemorrhoids. This is why people with chronic constipation and pelvic pain are highly likely to have associated hemorrhoids.
