The View of the Coastline towards Hartland Quay, North Devon.
Seen from Spekes Mill Mouth, the mound on the right of centre is known as St Catherine’s Tor, a steep grassy hill on the land side and jagged cliff on the side facing the sea. This unusual formation is typical of the geological features of this area of North Devon. On this side a steep path leads to the top of the Tor, fortunately the main path turns right at the foot of the Tor and skirts around it’s base, through pasture which is just visible on the far right.
