Ham Hill - Stone Circle.

The Stone Circle on Ham Hill is a very modern one, erected in the millennium in memory of the many generations of quarrymen who have worked here. Beyond the circle is the War Memorial for the village of Stoke-Sub-Hamdon, which lies immediately to the North below the Hill. Quarrying spoil heaps on the hill grass over in time and make wonderful places for wild flowers to grow and for children to play, some have been made into mountain bike tracks.

There are many deserted small quarries which are wonderful wild life habitats, and one or two larger ones that are used by local rock climbers.
