Gardener’s Room, Kingston Lacy, the blackboard lists the names of local people who died serving in the First WorldWar.

 

The watering can is inscribed with the words: “The end of our childhood coincided with the First World War ....... of all the young gardeners and menservants who had joined the Dorset Yeomanry and seen service......few returned”.
