Paul Weaver had his health checks in January 2018

Jill and I visited Wally my neurologist yesterday for my six monthly checkup on my Parkinson's condition. My friends and family would be aware that my right hand has an occasional tremor which makes eating peas with a spoon difficult. My party trick is that I can temporarily stop my hand shaking by staring at it. Wally and I agreed that I should remain on the low dose medication Madopar I have been on since he diagnosed me five years ago. I count myself fortunate my condition ranks at the low end of the health scale compared to many others I see with various afflictions in daily life. Importantly for my family is that my condition is not contagious, nor hereditary. Last week my GP organised a routine blood check for numerous other conditions which can seriously afflict people and the encouraging result came back that was everything is fine. Not so for our good friend and neighbour Melvin whom fell off a ladder yesterday morning and was taken to hospital in an ambulance. We wish Mel a speedy recovery and agree with the news that his son is going to confiscate his ladder.
