I've come to understand the ideation behind the "New Topographics" movement, but Lewis Baltz work eludes me. Baltz tends to be more aggressive than some of his contemporaries. In many of his 'industrial park' photos allowing nothing natural to enter the frame. No point of reference exists for scale or local. There is literally no escape. It's asphyxiating.
