Orpiment & Alizarin
Color - beautiful, delicious color.
Orpiment mineral is a bright yellow color with a golden glow. Its resemblance to gold was a constant tantalization to the ancient and medieval painters.
Alizarin is a red dye found in the roots of the madder plant and the powdered roots are used directly in textile dyeing process.
Note: Mark Rothko tended to paint with pigments, not necessarily manufactured paint. he would apply layer upon layer of pigment to achieve the ethereal quality in his paintings.
With my new vision I needed a new camera.
So I brought out my old 2010 Kodak.
