Immaculate Heart of Mary

Divinity, a mournful Man hung high. The fate of humanity nailed tightly onto a weather worn cross. A thousand tongues could not compose this bitter vision. Lungs silent His heart holds one more beat.

“Father. FATHER. I hang abandoned”. The perfect Passover sacrifice. Pure, genuine, undiminished. Lungs silent, a final breath beseeches, “Eloi Eloi Lama Sabachthani”.

With it’s last dolorous beat Heaven’s heavy locks turn. The gate swings open. Beneath a dimming sun it is done.

Mary’s weeping heart erupts. “Oh my child what did Gabriel say? Did he know it would end this way? Oh child of mine come back to me. A sight no mother’s eyes should see. My child swaddled in my arms, Your little fingers gently held my thumb. Now contorted into a fist. The curve in Your wrist. The twist in Your back”.

“My impulse is to hold you dear, but i wither in fear. I dare not come near. Ten steps separate us, eternity hangs between us. Goodbye my Son. I must live on”.

John 19:34 ... one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Matt. 5:8 ... Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Psalm 51:10 ... Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit.
