National Travel (North East) Ltd. was formed on 1.1.1974 with the merger of Sheffield United Tours & Hebble (who had already taken over the coaches of Yorkshire Woollen District).

It was renamed National Travel (East) Ltd on 3.5.1977.

 

JWE249W is a Leyland Leopard PSU5D/4R with Plaxton Supreme C50F coachwork, one of 9 (243-51) delivered in 1980.

It is seen in the bottom of the bus station on land used by coaches since the days of Sheffield United Tours.
