Wabi Sabi - Impermanence
Well used husks!
I spotted these husks or shells on fence posts by the multitude. I am guessing they are cicada husks. They obviously outgrow them. The start off as larvae underground and emerge between 9 and 17 years later. The screeching noise they make in droves is to ward off predators apparently. Probably deafens them!
