Strength of Years

This is the exposed root system of a Spruce Pine tree in a forest of Pines on Mackinaw Island Michigan.

 

Mackinaw Island is a non-motor vehicle island and most people either walk or ride bikes. It's a 7 mile bike ride around the island and there are many opportunities to capture beautiful images.

 

The pine forest there is thick with breaks in the canopy to allow soft light to filter through.
