The Phantom comic strip cont’d
“In Phantom country, it is said that a woman clad in jewels may walk without fear.”
I made the mistake of showing the phantom comic that had the above quote in it. It was a Sunday edition, a lady wearing a long satin gown was a walking through the dark jungle, gold jewelry glittering.. I think she was part of a plot to lure the Phantom out by having two men mug her….
My brother zeroed in on that quote and, no surprise, suggested I should try to reenact that particular strip.
So it became a help honey sort of game, with me being the dolled up lure, and my brother played both the role of my antagonist thief, and the hero who rescues my damsel in distress.
Our Golden Retriever curiously followed us out , but made a poor excuse for a menacing jungle lion…
And the fact that I made it all the way to the cemetery with my brother stalking me every inch of the way, sort of took away any hope of feeling being lost in a jungle.
