Perile’s Foil

Perile’s Foil

They were such a nice pair, the older brother and his kid sister Robin, that Perile had encountered at the fancy dress garden Soiree held at a friend’s country mansion.

Both had orphaned at a young age, he was his sister’s guardian, and as such, she had tagged along on all his adventures. They were both full of wonderful tales about those adventures. She listened as they walked along the secluded garden paths. The young lady was very knowledgeable about flowers, and had Perile constantly bending over to smell them, or taking hold of her arm, she would show Perile a certain tree or birds. So abruptly sometime did they stop, that the Robin’s brother, who had been closely following, brushed into Perile on several occasions. They also exchanged big hugs as they had parted, Perile having to visit her rooms private bath..

As she had walked away she thought about them. Robin’s brother, Harper Chatwick, was some type of jewelry salesman, although he had not taken notice of Perile’s jewels, which she thought being a little strange, since the set were rather nice tiffany pieces that she was wearing.

All in all it had been a rather delightful afternoon. The only dark cloud had been when she had returned to her room and discovered all her expensive tiffany sapphire Jewelry was missing, even her earrings!

She had gone back out to find that delightful pair of siblings to see if they could shed some light on things. But she failed to find them amongst the remaining guests. And to make matters worse, no one seemed to know who they were, or who had even invited them? And then as she started to inquire, other guests started to notice bits of jewelry, gold and silver pocket watches, even a bill fold thick with cash, had also turned up missing. All of the other guests who had lost something remembered receiving hugs from the Charming younger sister of that nice young man , Harper Chatwick….
