Desire Album 2

The second image in my desire album was taken by me as I was walking to an evening class on the campus of Ohio State University. The content of the photo depicts a setting sun shining through the gaps and branches of a tree on a fall weekday evening. To me, the photo represents my love and desire for nature and the fall season in particular. As I analyzed this photo, I realized that it represents a future desire of where I want to spend my life. Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to move out west when I grew up and live in a climate that experiences all of the seasons, with warm summer months and snowy winter months. This desire most likely arises from annual trips to visit family in Colorado and Northern California. The memories that I have of those places from my childhood are what motivates my desire to make it back out west when I am graduated and on my own. Besides from my future desires and where I want to live, this image also represents a simpler and fulfilling desire. Over the first several weeks of every school year, I often find myself sweating and overheated most of my days. It is at these points every year where I long and desire for the cooler autumn and even winter months. As I have said, these are my favorite times of year, and as I walk to class during these times of year, I have a greater appreciation for the nature and setting around me. During this time of the year, my personal, simple desires are fulfilled and realized in an immediate manner, and this photo represents that to me. It tells me something about my identity as well. Not only do I love the autumn season, but I appreciate nature and care about preserving our world from the damage we as humans have done to it. This photo also shows how the same desire can be realized immediately and also have a delayed realization that represents desires for a future lifestyle.
