Glass Winged Cicade

Found this lagre Cicade (5cm long) belly up on a bike ridden street on this hot sunny morning in Shanghai. He must have flewn into a car or scooter and suffered sever head injury as he was just kicking his feet in the air and didn't have the strenght to flip himself over. So, I moved him out of the street and onto this concrete retainer block so he could spend his last moments in peace. To honor this little guy, I thought I would take his photo to show my friends his amazing glass wings. He possed graciously, holding in his pain as I snapped several photos. I even called over the parking attended to let him have a look. I said I think he is dying, in Chinese, and he laughed. ;"He's fine" the man said. I said no he's not.... and at that moment, Mr Cicade shook his wings twice, and took flight. Super happy he was okay. Then I giggled as it reminded me of that Monty Python movie.where they go around town saying "bring out our dead, bring out our dead" and then one of the "dead people" in the wheelbarrow says, "im not quite dead yet"
