Carlo Scarpa glassware designs, Metropolitan Museum...
Carlo Scarpa glassware designs, Metropolitan Museum of Art, February, 2014. These are made from section cuts through fused rods of colored glass--cut as slices perpendicular to the lengths of the rods and then slump formed, exposing pixelated surfaces of color. This is an inspiring example of studying material and process logic to create unexpectedly rich and meaningful new form.
