I named this picture:
reflection /rɪˈflɛkʃ(ə)n/
noun
1. the throwing back by a body or surface of light, heat or sound without absorbing it.
2. serious thought or consideration
I recently went on a journey. A journey that defied all logic. A journey far outside my comfort zone.
Only based on a feeling: curiosity. Curiosity is thought of as the noblest of human drives, and is just as often as it is denigrated as dangerous (as in the expression “curiosity killed the cat”). All I know is, I've had it all my life and a few days ago it has brought me to Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Where suddenly I was sitting on this balcony talking to a friend I have just met for the first time.
The best part of being human is being able to connect with other humans. Being open to experiences, people and uncertainty. It’s terrifying at times, and brave always.
It’s not about oversharing and offering every detail of our lives up for consumption by anyone with a head. It’s about intention. There are those you hold close, or want to, who are worth taking a risk for. You open up, you let them know, you offer some of yourself and hope it will be received.
Thank you A. for sharing your little piece of heaven with me! I will never forget it.
