Adonis Blue..(polyommatus bellargus)
My final butterfly of the season,a super Adonis warming up in the early morning sun...see you next year......
I would like to thank all those who have viewed, faved and commented on my butterfly shots.
This has been my second season photographing these amazing creatures,a steep learning curve..! Many frustrating hours trying to get shots of illusive subjects, but thoroughly enjoying it.
Some great highs, like the morning looking for Purple Emperors at Bookham Common, whilst chatting to a couple of fellow butterfly enthusiasts an Emperor landed on the back of my trousers,my wife, who saw the event didn't know what to do,she knew if she alerted me,the butterfly would fly..it rested on my leg for about 15seconds,then flew off between me and the other photographers...amazing.
My nemesis butterflies...one,in particular, the White Admiral...a stunning butterfly, especially when perched, wings closed.Seen many, but boy are they flighty..!!!
Anyway..next year.Thanks all.
