"Stinson stuck"

We find the big tugs assisting the 1000 ft. laker George W. Stinson of the National Steel Corporation hard aground on the St. Clair river off Marine City, Michigan, on April 20, 1984. The heavy ice and currents shoved the Stinson aground earlier in the week, here the tugs Malcom, Barbara Ann, Olive L. Moore and Shannon attempt to refloat the monster footer to no avail. The Stinson would later off load iron ore cargo into smaller company sister ships to free herself.
