My very first attempt at photographing a lightning bolt during the daytime. Using a 10-stop ND filter I was able to capture this strike within my 15 second exposure. If you use the rule when you see a lighning bolt and it takes 30 seconds to hear the thunder, it's about six miles away... this was about two miles out. With my Pentax K3 mounted on a three legged tiltall lightning rod, I decided to retreat back into saftey, hoping that I got lucky. Pentax DA 16-45 lens at f/8, or f/11
