A previous theatre occupied this location from its construction in 1913. It was named The Lillian. It operated until the Great Depression. When it reopened it was known as The Roxy. After a second fire in 1945, it was completely rebuilt and reopened again in 1947.
The Roxy showed first-run movies until 1980. In 1983 it became The Roxy Regional Theatre became a "live theatre."
The venue now produces live theatre events as well as showing many old classic movies.
