In the stillness of the night,

Thoughts come flooding, taking flight,

Of what could have been, of what might,

Of paths not taken, now out of sight.

 

Feelings of regret, of sorrow,

Of opportunities lost, tomorrow,

Of moments that can't be borrowed,

Of dreams that fade and become hollow.

 

We make mistakes along the way,

Some we let go, some make us stay,

They shape us for better or worse,

Mold us like clay, a constant curse.

 

Some mistakes make us stronger,

Teach us lessons that last longer,

Others leave us feeling weaker,

Thoughts of times becoming bleaker.

 

Regardless of what they may be,

Mistakes help us to see,

To learn, to grow, to be free,

To embrace the future and let it be.

 

So let the thoughts come and go,

Let the feelings ebb and flow,

For all that we've been through,

Has led us to this moment anew.
